Nick Collins - DB - Free Agent

Free agent FS Nick Collins wants to continue his playing career.
Collins, 30, hasn't appeared in a game since Week 2 of the 2011 season when he suffered a career-ending neck injury. He underwent cervical fusion surgery, but the Packers wouldn't clear him to play. Collins was released ahead of the 2012 season and was advised to end his pursuit of football. It's undoubtedly tough on Collins to have his career taken away from him, but there's just no way we can see any medical staff clearing him for football activities.

Sidney Rice - WR - Seahawks

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks are "likely" to release Sidney Rice.
Rapsheet is just stating the obvious, as cutting Rice — who's recovering from a torn ACL — will be a no-brainer move for a team that needs to lock up Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas between now and next offseason. Releasing Rice would clear over $7 million in cap space. Grossly overpaid since the day he signed his five-year, $41 million contract in July 2011, Rice is due an untenable $8.5 million. One of the league's least durable players, Rice has just 114 total catches since notching 83 in 2009.

Zach Miller - TE - Seahawks

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport confirms the Seahawks are "likely" to ask TE Zach Miller to take a pay cut.
Miller has been one of GM John Schneider's few bad signings, catching just 96 passes in 45 games as a Seahawk. Coming off a 33/387/5 2013, Miller is due $5.8 million between salary and bonuses. There's a zero-percent chance he'll be back at that rate.

Patrick Peterson - DB - Cardinals

Appearing on Tuesday's Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports Network, Patrick Peterson passed up an opportunity to say he wasn't considering a holdout.
Angling for a contract extension, Peterson recently switched agents. "I can’t speak on that right now," Peterson said. "Me and my agent, we haven’t talked about some of those possibilities. But hopefully we can get something done." Peterson is technically signed through just 2014, but the Cardinals can exercise a fifth-year option on his rookie contract. Arizona holds most of the cards in long-term talks.

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss suggests Houston as a possible landing spot for free agent Julian Edelman.
Despite Edelman's breakout 105-catch 2013 season, Reiss believes the Patriots will be unwilling to pay him Danny Amendola money (five years, $28.5 million). "The Patriots could absorb it but I think they would ultimately decide not to," writes Reiss. Ex-Patriots OC and WRs coach Bill O'Brien is now the Texans' head coach. With Houston, Edelman could round out an awfully nice three-receiver package alongside Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins.

Aqib Talib - DB - Patriots

ESPN Boston expects free agent Aqib Talib to command a 3-4 year deal worth $6-8 million annually.
Patriots beat writer Mike Reiss notes that last year's free agent cornerback group was a "buyer's market," with Cary Williams commanding the largest deal at $17 million over three years. Talib will get more than that, but perhaps not by a ton. Reiss' gut feeling is that Talib will ultimately re-sign with New England.

Danny Amendola - WR - Patriots

The Boston Globe insists Danny Amendola's roster spot could be in danger.
Amendola inked a five-year, $28.5 million deal with the Patriots last March. It included $10 million guaranteed. $2 million of Amendola's $3 million base salary for 2014 becomes guaranteed if he's on the Patriots' roster come 4 PM ET on March 11. Beat writer Ben Volin thinks New England could designate Amendola as a post-June 1 cut and use the money saved to re-sign Julian Edelman.
