Joique Bell rushed nine times for 49 yards and a touchdown in Detroit's Week 11 loss to the Steelers, adding three catches for 48 yards before departing with a fourth-quarter ankle injury.
Speaking afterward, coach Jim Schwartz said Bell was cleared to return, but the Lions opted to hold him out. Bell was thrust into a bigger role after Reggie Bush lost a fumble. Schwartz also told the FOX broadcasting crew the Lions preferred Bell in the second half because of the soupy conditions at Heinz Field.
Matt McGloin completed 18-of-32 passes for 197 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 28-23 Week 11 win at Houston.
Not bad for an undrafted rookie that was a walk-on at Penn State. McGloin showed eye-opening arm strength, repeatedly making true NFL throws on frozen ropes up the middle and to the sideline. Most importantly, he guided the Raiders to their first road win of the season -- and forged a quarterback controversy in the process. In Terrelle Pryor's last three games, he threw zero touchdowns and was intercepted five times. Even if his knee is ready, we'd expect McGloin to start the Week 12 home game against the Titans
