The Falcons announced Dan Quinn will return as the team's head coach in 2020.
The Falcons will also retain GM Thomas Dimitroff. Quinn, who had been serving in a dual role as both head coach and defensive coordinator, will cede coordinating duties to Raheem Morris, effective at the conclusion of 2019. Quinn survived this year by the skin of his teeth but if the Falcons fail to improve on their sluggish 2019, the 49-year-old's sixth season in Atlanta could be his final one.
Falcons restructured QB Matt Ryan's contract. They also restructured DT Grady Jarrett's deal. The Falcons are converting Ryan and Jarrett's 2020 base salaries into bonuses. The moves creates $12-plus million in cap space for next season.
The 3x Pro Bowler and 2x First Team All Pro lands with the Falcons. Falcons signed running back Todd Gurley to a one-year contract on Friday, the team confirmed. Gurley joins Atlanta one day after being released by the Rams.
