Tate left Tuesday's practice with a sore shoulder, Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
The team said that Tate is no longer troubled by the sprained foot that he sustained Thursday against the Cardinals, but the shoulder ailment gives him something else to worry about. Fortunately, Tate and the Seahawks will have an extra day to recover this week, as the team won't take the field until Monday night against the Rams.

Free agent Jeff Garcia reached out to the Browns to express interest in returning as a quarterback.
The fact that this is even a "story" tells you how pathetic the Browns' quarterback situation is. Garcia is 43 years old, hasn't been in the NFL since 2011 and hasn't started a game since 2008. The Browns are currently deciding whether to start Brandon Weeden or Jason Campbell in Week 8. Weeden is tentatively expected to get one more chance despite an incredibly inaccurate 17-of-42 for 149 yard performance against the Packers on Sunday.

A source tells ProFootballTalk that a Josh Gordon trade is "possible" but not "probable."
Earlier this week, ESPN reported that at least three teams have contacted the Browns about trading for their exceptionally talented wideout. Even though Gordon may be one off-field discretion away from a year-long ban, two of the clubs reportedly have standing offers of a player and a high draft pick. The Browns have to decide if they want to build around Gordon or move on from a potential headache. For now, it sounds like they're leaning toward keeping him. The trade deadline is in six days.

Weeden, the 22 overall pick in last year's draft, has lost his job to 31-year-old journeyman Jason Campbell. We can talk about how the new Browns regime never wanted Weeden, but the truth is that he earned this demotion. He went 103-of-195 (52.8 percent) for 1,154 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions in five games. The Browns are 0-4 in his starts and his 66.5 passer rating ranks 30th in the NFL. With this move, the organization is throwing in the towel on Weeden ever improving to even an average starter.

The wildly inconsistent, inaccurate and unproductive Brandon Weeden has been benched. He went 0-4 in four starts this season, going 103-of-195 (52.8 percent) for 1,154 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions in five total appearances. While making the announcement, coach Rob Chudzinski said he believes Campbell gives the team the best chance to win. That might be true, but we wouldn't expect a drastic improvement. Campbell, 31, was a check-down king in the preseason and struggled while making one spot start for the Bears last season.

The ongoing saga of the Vikings quarterback mess takes another twist. Freeman is not expected to get cleared in time for Sunday night's game against the Packers, meaning Christian Ponder will start. Ponder was essentially benched in favor of Matt Cassel earlier this year, but has since leapfrogged back into the No. 2 role. He can't play any worse than Freeman did in a humiliating Monday night loss to the Giants (20-of-53 for 190 yards with one interceptions). Ponder did shred the Packers for 234 yards with three touchdowns and no picks in Week 17 last year.
